I need help to build a photo/film-studio

So I started working at this restaurant down the street ...
the owners of the building discovered my passion for film making while over hearing me brag about holding a stick in the air on a Warner Brothers feature film set & having a short film of mine screened all the way in Russia.... well actually i wasn't the director i just did score & sound design but i loved it & worked hard on it like it was my very own.. so screw you!

They asked me if i would help them make a fun commercial for their website to push business their way.

The grocery store next door just went out of biz & the entire economy took a belly flop,
so we.. and when i say "we" i mean i, decided to gut the place, build a set, place props, hang a backdrop, grab some home depot lights & shoot.. shoot.. shoot...

I wrote the shotlist & script & tried my best to not pitch a fit or alienate anyone when they did dent damn do what i wanted them to!

The gAsian with the i-book & the torrent copy goes to "film" "school" & is still locked in the editing process on a fucking 3 min promo-vid....
I cant slap him around, mentally or emotionally abuse him too much because i need his laptop & i'm not paying him anything... i'm sure if i would i could & that's just to sad for me to think about right now.

Hahahaha!

Anyhow... I now have access to a secure 25,000 sqft studio/warehouse space with high ceilings, huge roll up doors, natural ambient lighting & power taps to accommodate any type of lighting kit, also every kind of power & hand tool imaginable on site with construction materials for set, whitewall & prop building along with craft services right next door to pay your crew in cold crusty yellow cheesy pizza!

The only thing that cripples the splace are the supporting beams.. which actually help to divide the space when clamping walls together & such.

Also have access to pro DSLR still cams w/tripods
HD 3ccd DVcam W/ pro-Audio Technica shotgun & painters boom pole.

Looking for ideas from people who know more than i do to see if this place has any real actual potential of hosting photo sessions or film shoots so i can eventually get to renting this space to them cheaper than anyone else in the entire bay area,
also if you can come up with fun creative ideas to make a profitable collaboration for everyone involved that will inspire, entertain & inform the kind of people who watch web-isodes so we can sell ad-space then get in contact with me ASAP.

Thanks & have a great thing!

Call for entries extended until 1st of April!
Two months left until the 11th backup_festival and the transmittals for this year‘s call for entries already pile up in the office. Due to the comparatively short period of time between backup.10 in 2008 and this year's edition we want to offer the opportunity of submitting their creative works to more film makers by extending the call for entries period. Instead of March 20th the new deadline is the first of April! By that date, the works designed for taking part in the competition of the backup.award, backup.clip.award, backup.(non)commercial.award and for the first time backup.premiere.award should be sent to the following adress:

backup_festival
c/o Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
Bauhaus Film-Institut
Bauhausstraße 15
99423 Weimar/Germany

The application form and more detailed information are avaiable on our homepage www.backup-festival.de. In addition, you find the official announcement attached.
backup_festival 09 is looking forward to noumerous transmittals!

backup_festival 2009 _ CALL FOR ENTRIES

For the 11th backup_festival we are looking for young film makers and media artists to take
part in an international competition for a prize of 7500 Euros in total.

>>>>>>>>>> backup.award
We are looking for short films and videos which reflect and define the boundaries and
possibilities of the cinematic format through the creative use of different production methods and modes of expression. The interplay of media with differing techniques and the influence of these two aspects on narrative structures, production, and distribution processes are considered the most important criteria. The aim is to break out of previous categorisations and to produce hybrid forms of film.
The submitted works must have been completed after January 1st 2008 and should not
exceed 15 minutes in length.

>>>>>>>>>> backup.clip.award
We are looking for music videos which create unique combinations of music and motion
picture through the employment of different techniques and forms of media. The focus of
this award is on the artistic use of music video characteristics. The aim is to make pictures audible and sounds visible.
The submitted works must have been completed after January 1st 2007 and should not
exceed 7 minutes in length. If copyrighted music is used in the video clip, legal rights to
use the songs must be granted in order to be admitted in the competition.

>>>>>>>>>> backup.(non)commercial.award
We are looking for film works which deal with the idea of commercials as their own independent format of motion picture and that strive to break out of their boundaries by means of content as well as creative techniques. The methods and intentions of advertising should be reflected and questioned in an artistic way. The aim is to critically investigate advertising. Works which have been produced or released for commercial purposes will not be admitted in the competition. The inclusion of fictive products and services is preferable. Real products may only be referred to if legal copyright/trademark rights have been
granted and if the commercial has not been produced on behalf of the company.
The submitted works must have been completed after January 1st 2007 and should not
exceed 90 seconds in length.

>>>>>>>>>> backup.premiere.award
We are looking for film debuts which link different genres and formates, respectively
suggest methods to pass the boundaries of genre, and thereby present formates that break new ground. The films should - in accordance with a present-day view of the Bauhaus in Weimar - reflect the producers' interdisciplinary approach and its manifestation in narrative structures and production processes. For the first time, backup leaves the league of short film festivals and rises to a new challenge. Likewise, there are new challenges for the newcomers of film: the number of international cinematic debuts increases steadily, and it is hardly possible to keep track on the scene and the amount of new channels of distribution. The objective of the award is to discover new forms and modes of expression in the light of this situation - to filter unconventional, path-breaking works, and present them to an interested audience in an international context. The aim is to go beyond structural conventions by means of content as well as form, as well as to orient onself on the global market.
The submitted works must have been completed after January 1st 2008 and should not
exceed 60 minutes in length.

A panel of independent judges consisting of film makers, television professionals, producers, designers, and media theorists will award prizes to the best works. The call for entries is distributed internationally at film and art colleges, universities, universities of applied sciences, film and media agencies, film clubs, cultural centres and centres of learning, as well as online at: www.backup-festival.de.

Deadline: March 20th 2009

All submitted works should be sent in due time so as to arrive before the deadline and should include a copy for preview, stills, list of dialogues, synopsis, biography and filmography.

about the festival:

backup stands for films and videos reflecting, defining and readjusting the boundaries and prospects of film and its diverse segments by creatively experimenting with different ways of production and expression.
That is why backup is looking for filmic works that refuse to be categorized as genres, topics and other traditional criteria – experiments in the format of moving picture.
A new addition to this year’s 11th backup festival is a competition for international debut features. With this award and the systematic development of media partnerships backup wants to promote the potential of young filmmakers and support their talent.
Like in the past 10 years, backup wants to encourage a discourse about films, formats and festivals reflecting the current developments and aiming to find and support artistic works and exceptional approaches to the medium film.
Since its 10th anniversary in 2008 the backup_festival has a new date. The early summer in Weimar offers the possibility to celebrate the festival as a big and vibrant open air event. The 11th backup_festival will take place from May 21st to May 24th 2009 in Weimar, Germany. For more information visit www.backup-festival.de.

Need an asian/eurasian actressl for xtreme cult film! Hiring now, movie currently in production. 125 a day plus %

We've just jump started our B-movie production and need to cast our lead actress ASAP! We're specifically looking for someone who's part white and part asian in their mid 20's but we're willing to tweak the character slightly for the right candidate.

Please contact aberrantbehaviormovie@gmail.com if interested

The movie's called Aberrant Behavior, a term the Motion Picture Association of America uses to describe any content in a film that isn't classifiable as violence or sexuality but is bizarre enough to warrant a severe rating and this one has tons of it. It's about two street kids suffering from pica, a rare psychological disorder that, in real life, compels people to ingest things that aren't actually edible like dirt, coffee grounds, nails, etc. But we take it to a fantastical level with the main characters getting high off anything they can get their hands on like drano, bleach, antifreeze, etc. and use it as a metaphor for drug addiction and alcoholism. The main characters fall into a codependent and self destructive relationship using each other to exercise their demons of alienation from society but ultimately destroy themselves in the end. Think Leaving Las Vegas if it was a Troma film, Sid and Nancy on acid...you get the picture.

If this sounds like something you'd be in to, ask yourselves these questions...

Do you love cult films? Horror films? Horror-romance film? Drugged out films?
Do you love gore? Debauchery?
Do you love fucked up extreme or trashy films in general? Do you really want to star in one?
Do you live/can work in the bay area?
Can you start working immediately? I mean immediately.
Are you okay with nudity/sexuality and some bizarre and disgusting behavior?
(It's called Aberrant Behavior, after all)
Maybe you prefer it?
Are you not shy? Maybe a little bit of an exhibitionist?
Do you have a pretty open schedule to start shooting?

Can you work for 125 dollars a day plus food and a negotiated percentage of the profits?

Can you do basic make up for your part and the other lead? That'd be a bonus for us.

We're shooting this movie in at least two parts over the next three to four months. Will that work for you?

Are you serious about this type of work? We are!

No vague/flakey responses will be considered. If your interested in auditioning, get back to us and we'll set up an audition at our set at 7th and howard in the SOMA.

Feature Film ALL ABOUT EVIL looking for Bay Area folks

I am preparing to shoot my first feature film and am currently looking to hire some Bay
Area people. It's a horror comedy born in the world of Underground Cinema.

All About Evil is my attempt to bring the magic and fun of what we do in SF to an even
bigger audience and really create a bona fide genre hit. Being a long-time horror fanatic
and passionate cult movie fan who's built a career in the world of "underground film", I've
written an over-the-top gore comedy that's as horrific as it is hilarious. It's outrageous,
it's scary, it's funny and it's very true to the spirt of Midnight Mass. The movie is about a
woman who inherits an old single-screen movie theatre and makes it a success by
screening her homemade "gore" films (where the public doesn't know she's actually
murdering her actors).

Darren Stein, the writer and director of the film Jawbreaker (a cult hit in its own right
starring Rose McGowan) contacted me about my feature screenplay and after he read it
said he'd like to come on board as producer. We've secured financing and are attracting
some really great and experienced talent. Right now, Thomas Dekker of TV's The Sarah
Connor Chronicles is attached, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, Mink Stole, and Noah Segan.

Word went out on the SF360 site a few weeks ago:

http://www.sf360.org/features/peaches-slice-em-up-and-mental-health-reimagined-and-redefined

And our IMDB page is slowly going up one piece at a time:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307858/

I've been traveling back and forth to Los Angeles and we're now in the early stages of
recruiting interested and capable people for various positions. I'd really like to balance our
creative team and crew with as many locals as possible. We're currently looking for:

-line producers
-special effects / makeup people
-editors
-DP's
-Visual effects creators

Interested folks can send their resumes and links to backlashfilms@gmail.com

Thanks!

Hi Gang. I have started a tribe that is simply a list of must see web sites that powerful people hope we will never see. Sites about corporate corruption, government corruption, Rip offs and sleazy business practices, important documentaries on line and access to information you won't find on the 6:00 news.

If you know of any sites, you think should be on the list, please post it here.

Thanks everybody. I am looking forward to seeing what interesting sites you post.

An Astrologer, a Closet Satanist, an Inuit Opera Singer and a WebCast Diva . A typical Berkeley household is forced indoors during an unexpected citywide lockdown initiated by the federal government. Ona, a webcast diva with her own show, thinks the feds are shifting into a fullblown police state. Her roomies think she's paranoid. Havoc and hilarity unravel as they all race to their own conclusions about what they think is happening during their current state of escalating uncertainty.
I am having auditions for my new movie "Aberrant Behavior" Saturday June Seventh at Mamma Buzz Cafe in downtown Oaklands Art District 2318 Telegraph Ave from 4-6PM. If your interested in the movie you can e-mail me at: aberrantbehaviormovie@gmail.com. I have already casted some of the roles and have people working on it, I just have not cast all of them yet and of course the female lead.

There will be some paid roles (of course the leads) but this is a low budget (around 25-35,000 or so) affair so it won't be a whole lot. Just to warn you.

Aberrant Behavior, is basically a love story about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. They have a very co-dependent relationship and with there disorders too , they literally destroy each other.

There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis. If you can't make it to the auditions, you can send me a head shot with resume, or whatever you want. We can then decide when and where to meet.

THERE WILL BE SOME SEXUALITY AND NUDITY FOR THE TWO LEADS, AS WELL AS MISTY AND FOGGY TO A LESSER DEGREE. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR THOSE ROLES, IF YOUR NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THAT. THANK YOU.

I will be hiring for many roles, all ages (over 18) races, sizes, etc. But here are the main characters:
Main Characters:

LEADS:
Victor Muertos: (Mid to late twenties) Half Mexican/Half white (Half latino/half white will probably work). Black hair, down to chin and five o clock shadow. (Flexible though). Tall and thin but not too thin. Dark, brooding, depressed, prone to long winded sarcastic, cynical rants. Living off the state for mental depression, and addiction, but eventually breaks himself from the state. He hates the state, and normal life in general. He hates almost everything. He is sort of sloppy hipster, slightly emo, slight slight slight goth meets street kid. Light or no body mod, piercings, etc. He eventually lives on the street because of choice. He falls in love with Aiko. SOME NUDITY AND SEXUALS SITUATIONS REQUIRED-CAST

Aiko Zumbi (18-early twenties or look like it) Half Japanese/Half German (or Japanese, or half Japanese/Half white). Shorter than Victor, thin but still slightly curvy.
Street kid with a bit of dark hippie. Has been sexually abused as a child. Prone to violence. Prone to long winded rants, or sometimes just total silence. Dark, cynical, with a very bleak view of life. Body mods, tattoo's, piercings, fine. Dreaded or colored hair fine as well. Actually preffered. She falls in love with Victor. SOME NUDITY AND SEXUAL SITUATIONS REQUIRED.

SUPPORTING LEADS:
Pedida Muertos- (20's -40's)-Mexican- Victor's nearly catatonic - mute drug addict mother, who is usually messing around with strange men, and drugged up. Mostly abuses Victor through neglect. Mostly shown in flashbacks, but one scene in present as well. Young actress aged to look older in present, or vice versa.

Misty & Foggy (20's) two girls that Victor and Chad meet at the bar, who are wasted, and act and look like twins. Very ditzy, drunk, corporate, normal. They take Victor and Chad back to there place. Drunken debauchery ensues.

Spic 'N' Span (20's -40's)- One of the horrible mascots for the advertising firm Victor works for, "Spic n Span's Whiten it up" Cleaning product. They play racist cliched versions of mexican house workers. Think Samo. It's meant to be horrible, and it of course offends Victor.

Aiko's Father-
A militant cold hearted man who sexually abuses aiko. Must be bilingual Japanese & English

Aiko's Mother-
Always screaming at Aikos father. Bi-lingual fluent in German & English

VARIOUS:
Hipster's (18-30) Some with speaking roles. A house party Victor crashes.

Office workers (20's -on) Some with speaking roles.

Various small roles for the horrible commercials and promo's from the firm Victor briefly works for

Other roles as well-Not listed

New Independent Film Website

For the last year I've been working on a website for Independent Filmmakers and people who love Independent Film. Its called Reel Connect (http://www.reelconnect.com) and over the last few months its grown to have quite a few good independent films. If you have an independent film you've made, feel free to upload it to the site (for free) or just go and watch independent films. The site really focuses on the people behind independent films (everyone who works on the film can be listed as part of the cast and crew, and everyone has a profile) I'd love to hear what you guys think of the site, how it can be improved or any other comments or suggestions you might have. Thanks.

Image quality in youtube improvement?

Until recently it is been taken for granted that any video posted
to youtube would be severely degraded, pixelated and basically look like crap,
no matter how high the image quality of the original video was.
However, recently, I've seen a few exceptions. The image quality in
some of these videos is surprisingly good, with almost no visible
pixellation or distortion, even in scenes with rapid motion of the actors.

Any one have a clue how higher image quality is accomplished?

Regards,
Dave

Faerie

Faerie is the name given to a type of being, a legendary creature or manifestation of spirit often described as metaphysical, extraordinary or unusual. Faeries are commonly thought of as good natured and human-like in appearance but their actions represent a unique perspective from that of the common folk. Frequently, they supplant the mundane routine found in everyday life. Some say they possess a vision of what is possible beyond the mere satisfaction of our existence.

They are Socrates, Plato and Aristotle; they lay the foundations of civilization and society itself. They are Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Warhol; they define the meaning of art and beauty. They are Alexander, Caesar and kings or queens; those who first united the broken tribes of man. Beyond the ability of procreation they possess the unique new thought or act of creation itself, the very element needed to redefine culture in our minds and lives.

The film I have been working on all throughout 2007, "THE INVISIBLE FOREST", will have two premiere screenings in the Bay Area over the next two weeks (see info below). This film was made without a script though I borrowed text from William Shakespeare ("The Tempest" and "Romeo & Juiiet") and French Surrealist Antonin Artaud; almost all the actual dialogue was improvised. I'll be at both screenings to field questions and maybe add a few more of my own.

The Trailer
http://www.fractalvideo.com/HTML/IFFV2.html

SYNOPSIS
A theatre troupe camps out in a forest to perform their director's vision of Antonin Artaud's magic theatre of ghosts, gods and spirits. During their forest experiment Alex, the director, is haunted by disturbing dreams where Artaud appears and mocks his theatrical ambitions. When these strange nightmares persist, Alex stops sleeping in an attempt to regain control over his mind. Sleep-deprived and with his sanity pushed to its limits, he seeks help from a Psychotherapist who suggests hypnosis as a means to discover the source of his problems. What follows is a journey through the internal landscape of Alex's subconscious memories and dreams, a sojourn that leads us to a place beyond belief, beyond words, and beyond the mind itself.

I'm making a film, that will be somewhat explicit in parts. Also, there will be imagery that needs nudity.
I am afraid that I will not be able to cut the content of the movie script, even if I find actors interested .You can e-mail me with rates, photos, questions, etc. If your an actor or actress who has worked in nudity and/or sexual situations, is comfortable with it, and would like to take on a feature narrative film as a major role please e-mail me or show up to the auditions. The two main roles are the ones that require it but there are others. If you would like to be featured in sequences that do not involve the main characters, but are part of dreamlike imagery you can either show up to the audition, or e-mail me with link to your work. Best place to e-mail:
theperiodmovie@yahoo.com

Here is the plot:
Aberrant Behavior, is basically about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. Who are in a very self destructive relationship, there perfect for each-other except they literally kill each-other by being together. A lot of psycho-sexual/self mutilation-masochism in this one. There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis.

Keep in mind the budget of this movie will probably stay around 25-35, 000 dollars (already secured), so just warning I can't pay the highest rates

Thanks-

I have a new movie called "Aberrant Behavior" auditioning Sat. 1/19 3:30-6:3- at the Dark Room SF 2263 Mission off of 19th and Mission@ 3:30 - 6:30. (My first movie "the period" came out through Sub Rosa Cinema can be seen/bought at Netflix www.myspace.com/theperiodmovie, as well as various other outlets)
Aberrant Behavior, is basically about two self destructive anarchistic-y street kids who have an exaggerated form of pica, a disorder where people feel compelled to eat non-food materials, carpet, dirt, soap, drano, various chemicals, etc. as portrayed as a drug addiction. There's more to it, but that's the basic synopsis. If you can't make it to the auditions, you can send me a head shot with resume, or whatever you want. We can then decide when and where to meet.

I will be hiring for many roles, all ages (over 18) races, sizes, etc. But here are the main characters:
Main Characters:

Emma May (20's to 30's) Actress must be thin, because character is anorexic. Very fake, superficial, manic laughing. Very self deluded. She doesn't really see her anorexia as a problem, she think she looks great though she's obviously dieing and goes to extremes to keep herself thin. She is always dressed up elegantly and thinks of herself as a proper lady even when doing something grotesque . She is a head executive at a advertising/pr firm that she gets a Victor a brief job at, through meeting him in a class over there mutual addictions. (Brief Nudity /Partial a few times)

Caseworker Joe (30's-40's) Written has hispanic, but open. Larger guy, tall, built like a shed, a bit fat but not flabby fat. Very coarse, to the point, direct "Take no shit" kind of guy. Very normal, buys into the whole big house in the suburbs, good job, etc. He is Victor's Caseworker, and is tired of Victor's Shit, and believes he is not trying to quit. (None)

Glitters- a gay gangster rapper, take everything that's a cliche and horrible about it and flip it so that it's gay (some, will also need male models)

Pedida Muertos-Victors Mother. A nearly catatonic morally apprehensive drug addict who's always sleeping with random guys and ignoring her child (Some nudity/sexual situations can be negotiated to less)

And then random visuals, nudes for some flashback scenes (of some sort of psuedo porn the main characer shot) a girl that Victor sleeps with before he falls in love with Zumbi (requires brief nudity/sexuality) and some body part imagery that will not feature the face of the actor/actress, among other thing

I need before I even start:
Prostethetics/Makeup- There are many parts of my movie that need gore, ghoulish makeup or creating body casts for dreamlike effect (like a scene where they fall onto the ground and break like porcelain blood-paint spraying out of them creating a heart) but most importantly I need someone who can help make someone look anorexic, eye sockets reccessed , hips sticking out, ribs sticking out, shoulder blades, etc. I can't start without this because it's one of the main characters.

Boom-I have someone lined up for operating boom/mixing sound, but I'm not sure he'll always be available. I need someone who has at least some experience in this to help. I have equipment but having (better?) equipment would be great.

Props- It would be great to have someone who can assist in creating edible (or non toxic) chemicals, substances, materials for the main characters to ingest. It would also free me up to think about other things.

Lighting/ Art Department/ Set Design/Decoration/Locations- I need someone who can do a lot without a lot who can work with unusual materials. Who isn't too expensive or I won't be able to afford you. Also may be able to transform other locations into desired location.Things needed for instance underground bomb shelter turned into run down sorta apartment. Abandoned buildings. Offices. Fashion Show. A sewer, where the characters live in and eat off of trash.

Original posting:

Set Decorators/Builders:
Though the majority of the movie will be in real locations. There will be a few sets built, and sets that will be decorated to fit the movie. I am looking for people who have experience building sets (theater experience would be great) on a low budget. Resourcefullness in materials is needed (Meaning you can do a lot with not a lot). Building flats, painting, decorating.

Prosthetics/ Make-Up: Though this is not a gore horror movie. There is quite a few instances of gore. People who have experience in mold making, prostethics, sculpture. etc. would be very helpfull. Also people good at making people looking sickly or malnourished through make-up needed. In addition Emma May, the severe anorexic will need added pieces to protrude her brows and jaw, her ribs, collar bones, hip bones, etc to make herself appear much thinner. Actually a lot of make up needs from simple to complex through out the movie.

Vfx-Compositors- Though this will not be a special effects epic, there will be things needed. Good flashy two animations/composting for some of the fake commercials/promos. Possible fire and underwater animation. Some manipulation of the video -color fluctuations, shrinking an enlarging, simple morph effects, color globules to represent visual aberrations in the characters eye-sight. Some 3-D needed especailly those who are good working with modeling human figures. But mostly more simple 2-D basic 3-D stuff. I may do this myself, but send me a link to your work, and I might hire you for the movie.

Props: I will be doing much of this myself, but may need help in re-creating chemicals, materials, such as drano, soap, dirt, carpet, many other instances through-out the script, to create realistic looking edible (or at least non toxic ) substitutes for the substances they swallow.

Mechanical/Puppetry- Not needed for a lot of the movie. But there is a few scenes with Emma Mays giant snake like tape worm that slithers around. Also a scene where skull bowls start vomiting (have to read script to explain) Could do myself, just seeing if anyone else might be interested.

Lighting Designer: Though I will likely take over this role myself, and a lot of the footage will be shoot in the streets style. There will be a few locations that will be staying in for a long while in the script, and would like good, stylized lighting for maximum creepy effectiveness.

Costume: I already have a few people on board for this, but as this movie ends in a big Valentines Day Fashion Show. I am looking for people who could be commisioned for clothing for that event (and other sequences in the movie as well). Also, previously made pieces could work.

Underwater Camera- Anyone who would like to rent me an underwater camera, or who has experience filming underwater, this is needed for a few sequences.

Boom Mic/ Sound Mixer- I already have someone onboard for this, but never hurts to have a second position, or a backup

Pyro/ Fire Safety/Explosion - This really isn't needed for a lot of the movie. But there is one scenes where a whole room catches on fire (with possible stuntman that catches on fire, I made do this in special effects). There is another scenes where a home-made bomb blows a crack into a wall and makes it crumble. I want these scenes to come off effective and safe.

Security- Not throughout the whole movie, but there will be scenes where I will be filming in potentially dangerous locations, and a climax that will need crowd control

Legal/ Locations- I will probably do this myself, but if anyone has experience in finding or knowing of great locations, or securing permits for locations. I might be interested in working with you.

Production Assistants/Co-Ordinaters (I am sure you know what this means)

Music- I have most of the music worked out. But a band fell out that I really felt I needed for some sequences. If your music is post -rocky, slow core or has that aphex twin meets godspeed you black emperor I may be interested. The kind of bands I'm looking for: Mew, Godspeed you black emperor, Explosions in the sky, Spiritualized, 65 days of static, Sigur Ros. Also in some music Portis-Heady could work.

Thanks
-Jason

Need Original Music For Your Film/Video Projects?

My name is Aaron M.M. Purvis, a freelance composer who recently moved to the bay area. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA majoring in Film Scoring. While I thoroughly enjoy writing for orchestral pieces, I am able to write in any and all styles, whatever your project requires. Primarily, I am looking to get to know local film/video makers, and hopefully develop a professional relationship with them. I would be happy to sit down and develop ideas with you as to what sort of dramatic underscore your film/video project calls for, and, before you are committed to my music, I am offering you the chance to send me a clip of your project, which you feel needs music, and allow me to demonstrate how I could enhance the project. And if your budget is tight, I am certainly willing to work without remuneration.

I just completed an indie feature that explores the visions of French Surrealist actor/playwright, Antonin Artaud. The story follows a modern-day theatre director who, while camping out in a forest with his actors, is haunted by a reoccuring dream where Artaud appears. When the dreams persist he visits a Hypnotherapist who guides him into the heart of his disturbed psyche via hypnotic regression. Most of the plot unfolds through the internal ladscape of his dreams, memories and visitations from, what he believes could be, the ghost of Artaud himself.
Screen your film at the Climate Theater in SF

Hi,
My name is yahn soon and I'm curating a local filmmaker's series at the Climate Theater in SF (http://www.climatetheater.com). We're in the infancy of this program, but I'm on the lookout for provocative feature length films (over 45 minutes) by local filmmakers. The Climate is an intimate venue that holds up to 50 people, and it has a great sound system. The movie would screen off of a DVD. The screenings are twice a month on Sundays.

Another aspect to this film series is that we're trying to incorporate live music with the screening, preferably live music that relates to the movie or is performed by the filmmaker. The music would only be a short 30 minute set before the screening.

Please contact me if you are interested. My email is withrom@earthlink.net.

Best,
yahn

Seeking cast/crew for Erotic Sheep short film

Hi everyone,

I'm making a short film (5-6 minutes), and am looking for people to join me on this project. The story is of a woman discovering the erotic joys of imagining that she is a Sheep, having adventures with her loving Ranch Hand. Credit, DVD, good food, good folks, lots o' fun, and a well-run shoot.

Note that due to erotic content I am keeping crew all women for actors' comfort. Sorry guys!

CREW:

Crew (DP position probably filled but if interested please contact me anyway):

--Lighting and sound person (we have lights and mics if needed)
--Wardrobe master/costume designer
--Script supervisor/continuity
--PA (one or two)

CAST: I need to cast for three roles:

1. Woman-As-Sheep (female; very physical role)
2. Handsome Ranch Hand (butch female or FTM)
3. Male TV voiceover: narrator for an animal documentary--old school male voiceover sound.

Professional acting experience not necessary, but would be nice. Most important is to be playful and uninhibited in front of the camera, and able to identify with role.

I'll be submitting this short to festivals and perhaps some online venues.

This will be a fun project. It's a short commitment that can fit into a weekend and a weeknight. I’m a queer female video producer with corporate/industrial experience, so it will be a well-run shoot.

Auditions this upcoming week. If interested, PM me telling me about your interest in the project, and I can tell you more...

Thanks!!

my new fllm screens in Berkeley, 11/9

My new film, a dark comedy called "The Mind is a Liar and a Whore" (2007; 92 min.) screens Friday Nov. 9th at 2138 Cedar Street in Berkeley. This is an old wooden church whose priests allowed me to rent their sanctuary as a screening room. The acoustics are great, the location easy to find and they have a great sound system and projector already installed.

SYNOPSIS
Four roommates, a live-in boyfriend and their visiting landlord are forced indoors during an unexpected citywide lockdown initiated by the federal government. Ona, a webcast diva with her own show, thinks the feds are shifting into a fullblown police state. Her roomies think she's paranoid. Havoc and hilarity unravel as they all race to their own conclusions about what they think is happening during their current state of escalating uncertainty.

I have some good news to share. "The Christmas Card", the Hallmark movie I played the diner waitress 'Molly' in, is now available on DVD through Netflix, Blockbuster, Borders, amazon.com and others. Amazon gave us a 5 star rating and has posted some lovely reviews. Ed Asner was nominated for an Emmy for his outstanding performance in the movie earlier this year. Cast and crew are all thrilled! It's a wonderful holiday gift for the entire family.
;-)
Also, A few weeks ago I did a Slingbox commercial which should air very soon during Monday night football. I play a nervous dental patient in this one. Very funny stuff.

Hello you guys!

I have been promoting our film madly - I've created
fliers to post, little 'cards' to hand out to people,
and I've sent out batches of emails in groups (I still
have lots more to send out!).

The only way we are going to win is if we ALL promote
like MAD! Below I have copied the email I sent out to
the Whaddya group - use it or change it to suit your
needs. I've attached the flier and 'cards' - you can
change them or use them as is. Please tell EVERYONE
YOU KNOW! Make sure they rate it!!! There are many
problems with the mac site - the main ones that affect
us are
1. You can't search by our movie name - it doesn't
work.
2. Using the email to a friend function on our page
sends a link that doesn't work (or it didn't last time
I checked).
3. The only thing that seems to work is searching by
our team name -
whaddyagonnadoaboutit

Thanks!

Whaddya Gonna Do About It? team entered the
Insomnia Film Festival
Turn 24 hours into a
3-minute masterpiece

The list of elements were given out at 9am EST on
October 13th, we shot at 3 locations, our visual
effects master Andrew Coggeshall was importing and
working while we set up for the next shots. I was
importing footage into Final Cut by 6pm. By 2am I had
picture-lock and I handed off to John Madden for
scoring. Dana Jae proved to be the marathan champion
by mixing and compressing at the wee hours of the
morning to get it uploaded by 9am EST on October 14th.

It was a fantastic learning experience - and we ended
up with a pretty cool little movie. AND WE NEED YOUR
HELP TO WIN!!! There were 3000 entries this year, so
competition will be tough. You can help by watching
and rating movies - the 25 entries with the highest
rating on November 9 at 12:00 a.m. EST will be
screened by industry professionals, including Barry
Sonnenfeld, James Mangold, and Nora Ephron. The
biggest hit with either the public or the pros, each
member of the team will receive a MacBook Pro with
Final Cut Studio 2, Logic Studio, and Shake! THIS
PRIZE WILL HELP US MAKE MORE MOVIES!

So... I encourage you to check it out! Please tell
all of your friends & family, too! You have to create
a Mac ID - if you have ever ordered from Mac or
iTunes, you already have one. You will also need
Quicktime Player - available for free download at Mac.

Whaddya Gonna Do About It? Productions presents...
8 3/4
Please watch and rate it by going to
http://edcommunity. apple.com/ insomnia_ fall07/
in the search field enter our team name:
whaddyagonnadoaboutit
8 and 3/4 will come up, click to watch

I would love to hear your comments! Thanks!

Caravajal15 residenza dinamica
Orvieto \ Italy
International Projects 2008

Hello!
We are happy to announce that Simone Forti will be again the guest artist of our residence, for giving her intensive residential workshop “Logomotion Writing Workshop”.
The intensive workshop with Simone Forti is in the ambit of our international projects 2008, and will be from March 8 to 15 2008 in the beautiful Etruscan city of Orvieto, in mid Italy.
The workshop is limited to 16 participants.
The intensive workshop will be held at the headquarters of the cultural Association Caravajal15 residenza dinamica, in the prestigious sixteenth century rooms of the Palazzo Caravajal-Simoncelli.
The fee is 400 euros, which includes also hospitality, reception and meals.
Application for registration is open from October 15th.
For information write to: info@contactfestival.it, or telephone to +39 0763.341479.
Info and texts below.

Simone Forti \ Logomotion Writing Workshop
Intensive residential workshop
8-15 March 2008
maximum 16 participants
7-day workshop, plus one day pause
fee 400 euros (including meals and lodging)
pre-registration: 150 euros

Logomotion Writing Workshop
Sometimes our words don't have access to what we know in our bones.
In this workshop we will be improvising moving and speaking, and we will be writing.
While our writing will stimulate our imagination and support our improvisations, our improvisations will enrich our writing with a kinesthetic timing to phrasing and windows on sudden thoughts and memories.
Our activities will include studio sessions of improvisational moving and speaking, spontaneous writing, walks in town, with partners, for conversations about matters large and small, and private times to write and to craft our writings and to read them to each other.
We will borrow from the writing practice of Natalie Goldberg as found in her books “Writing Down the Bones” and “Wild Mind”, discovering the associations that gather spontaneously around a chosen point of departure.
As our movement work will include many activities in partners and in groups, some of our writing will include more than one voice, focusing on the relationships between the thoughts of different people.
A goal will be to write with wild mind and intention, and with awareness of world.

Jennifer Dunning writes in her 1991 New York Times review: “Simone Forti presented her first dance program in 1960 and has since then had a steadily increasing influence on post-modernist choreographers interested in exploring ‘natural’ or non-formalist movement and dance”.

Hey guys, here is my first attempt at a 'special effects" movie. It's a tribute to all of the over-the-top blockbuster movies with crazy effects. I didn't have access to a green screen studio, so I just shot everything in my apartment and had to rotoscope (trace) all the characters frame by frame to get them all in the same shot. Take a look and let me know what you think:

Short Comedy Submissions

I'm helping a friend of mine put on a small screening night/festival and we're looking for short comedy. Please send me a message if you have a film that you'd like to submit. We have pretty loose requirements. Your film needs to be: 15 min or less (slightly flexible on that) and funny. If you have a film that meets these criteria, drop me a message and I'll tell you where to send your submission to.

CASTING: 1970's style Euro-Sleaze MOVIE

Hey-- I am a writer/director with verifiable IMDB credits (Malcolm McDowell & Faye Dunaway are in the last movie I wrote that was produced).

We're shooting a nunsploitation flick in a mansion (circa 1860) with a nefarious past in San Jose, Ca in July. It's low-budget but this is a PAYING GIG.

It would be cool if you have a passing knowledge of the work of director Jess Franco - but that's not really a requirement. If you're interested, please send me a message & I'll pass on the cast breakdowns to see if you're right for something.

AND- if you look like my ghost queen, the late, great SOLEDAD MIRANDA and you speak English, I'll probably cast you.

This is going to be a really fun, extremely twisted picture...

Thanks,
Brian

OK, after a few years off from doing any kind of filmmaking of any sort, I am putting together some gear together and I'm wanting to get back into things. I've got a DVX100B, boom mic, wireless lav and a halfway decent FCP rig. Anyone in the East Bay either already have something going on or looking to collaborate on a project? Let's talk. Most of my experience has been in comedy and live performances but I'd love to branch out into other genres.

Writing a Great Script

Has anyone used the book ‘Developing Digital Short Films’ to make a film?

I have been using it and it has a ton of information on how to write a script. There is this free 90 minute video story engine I found that the author is putting up online as a sample from her new video workshop "Writing A Great Script Fast." This thing is a 20 hour DVD class that walks you through ALL the steps you need to think about when writing a script for a film or a story for novel.

Check out the sample YouTube files online it looks pretty cool:

http://www.mindseyemedia.com/Steps/step1intro.html

Just thought I would share the information as a great resource. Walks you through a simple version the 20 hour workshop. It feels like passive learning in a way - or watching a hip TV show while learning about how to write a script. There are all these examples of digital films in this video class that are fun to look at for ideas - and really, really helpful!

There’s also a 50% off sale of the workshop if you order before August 1st - so check it out if you get a chance. Tell your friends or anyone you know who heading in this direction -its harder to write a really great script then one would think. Looks like a great resource for filmmakers these days struggling to pin down their story ideas.

They are also launching a new online movie studio called MyFlik.com with lots of tips, tutorials, funding and articles on no budget filmmaking.

“The Smiling Man” World Premiere and DVD Release Party

(San Francisco, CA) - Local movie makers Kelp Entertainment are proud to unveil their new detective mystery in a free Noir-themed bash and public screening at 12 Galaxies on the evening of August 7th, 8:00 P.M.

Set in San Francisco, 1948, “The Smiling Man” tells the story of down-on-his-luck private detective Nick Chambers as he tracks down a missing man with only a single lead to work from - a photograph of his grinning quarry. Without even a name to go on, Nick begins a citywide hunt for this mysterious missing person, but finds more questions than answers. Based on the short story written by Keoni Chavez, originally published in the anthology “Fog City Nocturne”, The Smiling Man pays loving homage to the classic detective films of the forties, while adding a decidedly post-modern slant.

The centerpiece of the evening will be two screenings of “The Smiling Man”, each lasting 37 minutes, once in vintage black and white, and later in color. Many members of the cast and crew will be on hand to share anecdotes and answer questions.

Guests can compete in a “Liar’s Dice” tournament for valuable prizes. Refreshments will be available for purchase at 12 Galaxies’ bar, and we may have a surprise musical guest!

1940’s clothing is encouraged, but by no means required.

“The Smiling Man” World Premiere and DVD Release Party
Tuesday, August 7th, 8:00 p.m.
Open to the public, 21 and over.

Hello

I’m new at this and need some advice. I’m planing on making a few shorts and I’m looking into video cameras and all I can say is oh my god … there are so many choices

So I figured the best thing to do is ask a tribe… so any recommendation? My prices range in $1000 to $2000 … a lot of indoor shots, some out door

Thanks for any advice
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: 2007 Anti-Corporate Film Festival

The 2007 CounterCorp Anti-Corporate Film Festival is seeking submissions for this year's festival, which is scheduled to take place from October 19-21 in San Francisco.

The CounterCorp Festival seeks a variety of U.S. and foreign-made movies, feature-length and shorter works, and narrative (fictional) and documentary films (including animation) in both film and digital formats.

The only requirements are that they have some element or theme about how corporations affect our lives, and that non-English films have English subtitles.

To submit a film for consideration, please download and fill out the 2007 submission form (www.countercorp.org/countercorp-festival.htm ) -- and mail it in with your film by this year's deadline: July 2.

CounterCorp also welcomes suggestions for films that we should show at the Festival. Please e-mail suggestions to submissions@countercorp.org (or reply to this posting), and include as much as possible of the following information:
* The name of the film
* Approximate running time
* A brief description
* The director's name
* Year it was released
* Country of origin (and original language)
* Name of production and/or distribution company
* Why you think it fits in the CounterCorp Festival

If we end up screening a film that you suggest, we will give you two free tickets to *any* film at this year's festival. (In the event that two or more people suggest the same film, the first suggestion we receive will win the tickets -- so e-mailing your suggestion is better than replying on Tribe.)

For more information about CounterCorp or the 2007 Anti-Corporate Film Festival, visit our website at www.countercorp.org.

The enitre program is expected to go about 72 minutes, with networking and refreshments to follow.

EL TOPO and HOLY MOUNTAIN at the Castro (Jan. 19-22)

Two of the more honestly visionary films I have seen, Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky's "El Topo" and "Holy Mountain" are having rare big screen showings at the gorgeous Castro Theatre.

These films are unique for their mystical symbolism -- they work simultaneously on both narrative and symbolic levels -- and are, in my opinion, best viewed in a non-literal way as metaphor and allegory. Both films have been off the screening circuit for almost thirty years and difficult to obtain on dvd.

EL TOPO (1970)
Friday 7pm & 9:30pm
Saturday 2pm, 4:30pm, 7pm, 9:30pm

HOLY MOUNTAIN (1973)
Sunday 2pm, 4:30pm, 7pm, 9:30pm
Monday 7pm & 9:30pm

SYNOPSIS
The daily routines of four roomates, a live-in boyfriend and their visiting landlord are jolted by the news of an alleged bioterrorist attack in their city. Ona, a webcast diva with her own show, thinks the feds are staging this attack as a shift into a fullblown police state. Her roomies think she's paranoid. During a 48-hour citywide bio-hazard lockdown, they are all forced to come to their own conclusions about what is happening during their current state of escalating uncertainty.

Romantico at Lumiere and Shattuck Cinemas for 1 week / Director Q&A tonight

Romantico (www.meteorfilms.org) is showing at the Landmark Lumiere Theatre and Landmark Shattuck Cinemas beginning January 19th.

I will be doing Q&A's tonight, January 20th, in Berkeley (5:50 & 7:50 shows).

Synopsis: Romantico is an immigration tale in reverse. The documentary is about Mexican musician Carmelo Muniz Sanchez, who returns home to his young daughters after years away earning money playing the San Francisco taquería circuit. Once he returns to his hometown – a thousand miles south of the border – he finds himself confronted with the million reasons he left in the first place years ago. But at the age of 60, a border crossing begins to seem absurd...

Thanks,
Mark Becker
www.meteorfilms.org

"A lovely, touching, moving portrait.... This man talks about his own life – his own struggle – and you get a real sense of his dignity and... that he is a genuine artist." A.O. Scott, The New York Times.

"'Romántico' is visual poetry on the run and, as any work of art does when it's successful, improves our perceptions of the world." John Anderson, Newsday.

Casting Call for Extras

Kelp Entertainment’s production of “The Smiling Man” is looking for extras. We are a very small independent group funding our movie out-of-pocket, and are shooting it on digital video in San Francisco.

We need a large number of people of any age, race or sex to fill out the backgrounds of a few key exterior scenes shot around the city. We will be shooting at various times of day, both weekdays and weekends, so no matter when you are available, odds are good we can use you. No one who can meet our criteria will be refused.

The catch: the movie is set in the late 1940s. All applicants must be able to provide their own reasonably authentic period clothing, and women must be able to do their own hair and makeup. Men must have appropriately short hair, and be willing to slick it back with pomade (available on request) or equivalent.

The only compensation we can offer is screen credit and a copy of the finished DVD, which should be available in the early part of next year. This is a great chance to get some exposure, break out those swing clothes that have been languishing in the back of the closet and have some fun!

To apply, please send a photo of yourself in a late 1940’s outfit along with your name, contact info and an estimate of your availability this November and December to astrobeej@strafe.com. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Script Writing Tools?

Can anyone pass along their favorite tools (books, dvds, workshops, classes, websites, etc.) for script writing.

One of my favorite books is Developing Digital Short Films, by Sherri Sheridan. It's SO much more than a book about films...but has a great step by step process for character development and visual storytelling. Love it.

Anyone else?

looking for screenwriting partner

as an agent for film distribution, i have -over the years- accumulated good contacts in the business. Time to use them more... personally (and creatively). I would like to find a screenwriting partner, and get a script ready for Cannes at the earliest, next AFM at the latest. I write about 5 script coverages by week, and my criticism of other people's scenarii has led me to face... continuous writer's block. I REALLY need the stimulation and inspiration a collaboration can provide. My first language is French, so i'm open to a French or English collaboration. We would only be able to meet in person a few days each month, and most of the collaboration would have to happen via phone or i.m. If you're interested, send me some info about yourself, including which movie (precisely or more vaguely) you would like to write, which films/ scripts have inspired you etc. Please do not contact me with an already finished script you're trying to place. Send all info directly to my tribe address (no need to respond to this post)

Do any of you have suggestions for the best companies to handle DVD encoding and/or manufacturing in Northern California. I was using a company in L.A. that is full service but I wasn't too pleased with the outcome. Would love any referrals to companies that you out there have used. Also, any warnings against places that do shoddy work would be appreciated. I am quite meticulous and want a place or placesthat really do good quality control.

Greetings fellow filmmaker peeps,

I am currently in a film contest run by Apple computer. In a nutshell the company revealed a list of 11 elements on their website last Friday at 5:00 p.m.
At that point all registered film teams had 24 hours to shoot, edit, and score a 3 minute movie that had to be submitted into Apple the next day at the same time. Our project, Might of the Transit Employee is currently posted on the contest gallery! Here is the list of elements that we were able to incorporate into our piece.

- Required character name: Alex Kona
- Required dialog line: “No, you don’t understand what it’s like growing up here.”
- Required costume: leather jacket and dark sunglasses
- Required prop: ice
- Required side kick: pet monkey
- Required setting: abandoned building
- Required makeup: fake eyelashes and blue eye shadow
- Required genre: sci-fi/fantasy
- Required editing device: musical montage

Might of the Transit Employee is a mock trailer for a movie that tells the story of Biff Blazer, a full time MBTA worker, and how he becomes the unlikely hero who saves the day.
Here is the link to watch the movie.

edcommunity.apple.com/contest/item.php

If you like it won't you please vote for it! You'll need to create an Apple account (if you don't already have one,) but other than that you should be able to vote from the provided link. If we make it into the top 25 our movie will be eligible for judging from Apple's selected panel.

Thanks for your support, it is greatly appreciated!
Short video and image contest - Zannel Fest

Videomaking Tribe folks may be interested in Zannel Fest, an on-line contest for short form video and still images and art. We're looking for the kind of stuff we'll think is so amazing we'll want to pass on to our friends, family, office-mates, and nearby impressionable infants. And then we'll award selected entries with things like cash, shirts, syrup, and other crazy prize stuffs.

And luckily this festival is free to submit to. No more pesky registration fees when all you have to do is have access to the Internet and be able to press an upload button. But perhaps the best part of registering for Zannel Fest, in addition to prizes, is that you’ll also be (if you want!) one of the very first users of an almost launched content sharing network that encompasses mobile phones, the Internet, and possibly a device that hasn't been invented yet, like the PK-109 Video Helmet.

Participants are invited to submit original works in two categories - pictures or videos. Just make it fun, cool, sweet, or [insert your favorite superlative HERE].

Please visit www.zannelfest.com for details on the festival, submission requirements and to upload your work.

Nov. 14 Premier of Stoner's Run @ the Parkway Theater

PREMIER OF STONER'S RUN @ THE PARKWAY THEATER
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14th @ 9:15pm
Parkway Theater
1834 Park Blvd.
Oakland, CA 94606
Admission: $3
21+ due to the alcohol sales

Attention everyone. I am an Oakland filmmaker and I want to announce the premier of my first feature length film, "Stoner's Run" at the historic Parkway Theater. Please mark you calendars and support your local filmmakers.

Come to the screening and meet the cast and crew of this no-budget indie film. And if you had the fortune or misfortune to work on this film, come see the fruits of our labor. Stoner's Run is what indie filmmaking is all about. No money, just vision, heart and commitment.

"Stoner's Run" is about a modern day stoner who has it all. But while partying with his friends one weekend, it all comes crashing down. While trying to score some weed, Bradley and his friends set off for some good times, adventure, and of course, weed. Little do they know that they have caught the attention of narcoticsofficers who are hungry for a bust. This little adventure will turn into a journey of epic insignificance and we learn that the good times aren’t always so good.

The Respect Burn Victims Despite their embesselment Super Special

I am shooting the third episode of my independent comedy series THEPEOPLESCLUB and am casting people as (A) Burn victim counsellers (B) Burn victims(To be done with make up, real burn sufferers may also apply for what will be a completely respectful shoot) and(C) Arsonists and neo shriner arnarchists The lead burn victim, Norah, is a high school female of subtle charm and open innocence. The 10 or so Other less characterized burn victims hopefully cover the full anthropological spectrum in their sum. APPLY NOW! Burn victim counsellers exude the closed off clerical vibe, with an emphatic sincerity deviod of expanse beyond the slogan realm. Apply....now Arsonists wear masks and enjoy home invasions of burn victim counsellers. Must be flame retardent(ha) I will shoot mostly during October in the marin and san francisco area on HDV. Since I am a performer in the Composition as well as Director I can always use Camera operater help and so forth. Get in touch with me for the script txt, information, or cries of interest, I'll be around

SCREENPLAY: Luring Blue-Collar Men to Tinseltown

                                                        SCREENPLAY

LOGLINE

Abused Hollywood Actresses denounce their violent lovers; consequently, the unionized ACTRESSES lure to TINSELTOWN, a throng of BLUE-COLLAR MEN.

SYNOPSIS

A furious Lesbian actress, GRACE GRAHAM, unionizes a bevy of terrified ACTRESSES, after most of them had been viciously assaulted, by some of Hollywood preeminent ACTORS. As president of a newly formed ACTRESS UNION, GRACE urges all ACTRESSES to abstain from social communication with Hollywood’s gorgeous predators.

Before long, a new social technique is implemented, whereas ACTRESSES lure “BLUE-COLLAR MEN” to TINSELTOWN for the purpose of evaluating their romantic prowess. To enact this innovative, social modus operandi, GRACE sets out to erect a MATRIARCHAL COMMUNE (EDITH CRANE VILLAGE) on an abandoned army base in the San Fernando Valley, exclusively for actresses. However, Hollywood ACTORS won’t be allowed on the premises.

But GRACE’S strategy is soon shattered when the newly erected COMMUNE is mysteriously bombed. Before long, a determined GRACE rebuilds the COMMUNE. But lo and behold, GRACE’S woes begin anew. As GRACE dines in a steakhouse near a window with her two female lovers, AMY and MOLLY, several gunshots are fired into the steakhouse; within seconds, AMY and MOLLY falls to the floor, mortally wounded by an anonymous perpetrator or perpetrators. Will the tragic arson and murder cases be solved by the hard-nose Chief of Police, MIKE SIMMONS and will the MATRIARCHAL COMMUNE become operational?

Seeking filmmaker or producer with a sound budget tp produce film.
